SKILLS & OUTCOMES

1. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify numbers from 0 to 10.
2. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to express quantity and numbers from 0 to 10.

ACTIVITIES

The teacher greets the class first. The students repeat classroom objects they’ve learnt and listen a song about numbers from 1 to 10. The teacher says they should listen first, then he wants them to do actions in the song video while they’re listening it. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85M1yxIcHpw)

1. The teacher draws a large circle on the board to teach vocabulary. He places some animals or shapes to right of the circle. Then explains to the students that there are no items in the circle. Nothing there represents the number zero. Zero represents nothing at all. Teacher moves one shape into the circle, then write the number 1 above the circle. The students repeat, “one.” The teacher adds another magnetic shape into the circle and count one, two. Teacher erases 1 and writes 2. Then the students repeat “one, two.” The teacher repeats until all 10 magnetic shapes are in the circle, changing the number at the top to reflect the number of items in the circle.

2. The teacher writes numbers words from 0 to 10 on a carton and uses two paper cups. Then he chooses two students to come to board. The teacher explains how to play this game. Each student is chosen has a paper cup. When the teacher says a number, the student who matches this number with its spelling on the carton by closing with their own cups firstly wins the game.

3. The teacher brings a craft to the class. This craft is box in the shape of a chicken. The teacher introduces it to the students and says its name is Chicky. In this box there are 100 eggs and teacher hide some eggs at every turn so the Ss try to guess how many eggs there are in the box.

4. The teacher gives each student a worksheet. He explains they should cut the fish scales on the worksheet and stick them on the fish. Finally, the teacher wants them to color fish on their worksheets.
