SKILLS & OUTCOMES

1. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand and use simple expressions about greeting and meeting someone.
2. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to ask questions to find out how they are doing.

ACTIVITIES:

1. The teacher uses flash cards of two cartoon characters named Bugs Bunny & Tom related to greetings. The teacher sticks Bugs Bunny and Tom to the whiteboard and make them speak. When the teacher makes a dialogue with the class, he uses speaking cards.

Dialogue:
     Bugs Bunny: Hello!
     Tom: Hi! I am Tom. What is your name?
     Bugs Bunny: My name is Bugs Bunny. How are you?
     Tom: I'm fine, thanks. You?
     Bugs Bunny: I'm okay.
     Tom: Goodbye.
     Bugs Bunny: Bye. See you.

Then, the teacher chooses some volunteers and wants them to act this dialogue. After that, the teacher lets the students watch a song video first, he wants them to sing the song altogether.

2. The teacher sticks a mountain picture on the whiteboard. He also sticks different pictures of the sun around the mountain to explain parts of the day. The teacher writes parts of the days on the sun pictures. (Good morning, good afternoon, good evening, good night).The teacher wants the students to repeat the parts of day.

3. The teacher makes the students listen to 'The greeting song’ Then the students sing the song altogether.

4. Finally, the teacher hands out a worksheet to each student. He wants the students to colour the flower first. Then, the teacher wants them to cut the words and paste on the flower. He wants the students to paste them on their notebooks then.
